Director of Product, Design

Celtra is looking for a seasoned Product Manager specialized in the field of user experience to lead R&D of assigned projects.  

This is a role for individuals who dream in user scenarios, can sketch multiple solutions for the same interaction problem over morning coffee, unknowingly keep things on their desk aligned to an invisible grid, perpetually shift their mental view from ground level UI details all the way up to business strategy, and are haunted by an entrepreneurial mindset that tirelessly seeks opportunities for innovation. 

Our ideal candidate is someone able to name at least three Gestalt psychology laws applied in Hitchcock films if woken at 5 am after an evening of heavy drinking. 

Responsibilities

  • Staying ahead of the curve with trends and activities of video advertising market and professional creative software
  • Leading research & development of projects from ideation to launch by working closely with product managers, product designers, engineers, technical writers, product marketing managers and other stakeholders or partnering organisations
  • Directing product roll-out activities
  • Driving internal studies by working closely with analysts and UX researchers to design experiments, interpret their results and translate them into actionable insights
  • Defining product roadmap by monitoring adoption, managing backlog and setting development priorities

Requirements

  • BA or higher academic degree
  • Min. 7y of general product management and/or design experience
  • Exceptional portfolio or examples of previous work
  • Extensive domain knowledge on information architecture, information design, typography, and layout, interaction design, usability, HCI, user testing, etc.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to articulate complex ideas in written, spoken and visual language
  • Ability to re-engineer complex systems and their logic in order to simplify user interaction
  • Broad visual vocabulary with ability to consistently expand an existing design language, as well as art direct a new one from scratch
  • Intermediate animation and/or motion graphics skills
  • Literacy in HTML and CSS languages with ability to write non-production code
  • Solid analytical skills with prior experience in designing experiments and interpreting data to inform product design
  • Solid technical understanding of front-end and back-end development technologies
  • Ability to be self-driven, pro-active, systematic, well organised and rigorous about details
  • Ability to operate in a highly multidisciplinary and collaborative environment where effective exchange of knowledge between peers is crucial
  • A “can-do” mindset pursuing excellence
  • Prior experience as a design professional in digital advertising (a plus)
  • Prior hands-on experience in video production (a plus)
  • Prior experience with agile development methodology (a plus)
  • Proficiency in other creative tools such as Affinity Designer, Principle, After Effects, Premier, etc. (a plus)
  • Rapid prototyping skills using jQuery, Framer, RelativeWave, Origami studio, UXpin, etc. (a plus)
