Senior Back-End Developers

But our bar is set high. This is what we expect:

  • Team players. We want good people who like working with other good people. No loners. No code monkeys.
  • Expert knowledge of PHP or other dynamic languages like Ruby or Python. Experience with Java or Node.js is a huge plus.
  • Things like OOP and MVC come naturally to you.
  • Strong JavaScript skills. Thorough understanding of JavaScript's inner workings, like closures, scopes or event loop.
  • Thorough understanding of HTTP and REST. Experience building RESTful web services is a huge plus.
  • Basic CSS. Experience with CSS3 transitions, transforms and animations is a huge plus.
  • Developer-level knowledge of SQL and experience with MySQL or other RDBMS, such as PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle.
  • B.Sc. or higher in Computer Science or a related field (or a good reason for not having one).
  • Fluent written and spoken English. British accent is a huge plus.
  • More huge pluses: iOS or Android application development, big data (MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, HBase), basketball.
